I am so excited to share with everyone what my team and I have been doing every day during the week! We start our day with a thirty minute walk to Camp Hope (a school for kids with special needs). I am so humbled and happy to get to work here. For the most part, each day looks a little different. Inca Link is the organization that World Race pairs with in Ecuador. They have done an outstanding job teaching us how to respectfully serve in regards to children or people with special needs. That being said, it is very important that we don’t work with the same people every day (creating unhealthy attachments), which is why each day is different. So far, we’ve helped with physical therapy, care-taking, feeding, cleaning, kitchen prep, yard-work, and my favorite- playing and loving on the kids that attend the school. I pretty much love every minute I get to spend here and I am so grateful for everything my team and I have learned since we started.
