WOW so we’ve been in Quito Ecuador for about three days now and somehow I already feel at home. Even being almost 24 hours of travel from home, I have never felt so comfortable and happy in a new place. I want to share a little bit about the multitude of blessings and challenges I’ve encountered since I’ve been here.

To start off, some things have been a little bit challenging. A lack of independence, being away from my closest community, and being away from my precious dogs all are uncomfortable and hard. However, I know that I am where God has called me, because He has also encouraged me through various blessings.

First of all, when I decided on the World Race, I had a specific route in mind that did not include Ecuador, and now I could not imagine my life without experiencing this place. Quito has such magnificent scenery. I don’t think I would be able to understand the beauty if I wasn’t here in person. It is literally and figuratively breathtaking (haha get it because were 9,350 feet above sea level and it’s hard to breathe). Mabe and Fabi are our hosts and they are so inspiring. They are always willing to give their best to serve us, and push us to be our best. And most importantly, when we arrived at their beautiful home, we were greeted by some beautiful pups. When I decided to serve internationally for 9-months, I prepared myself to refrain from petting dogs, and now I have been gifted with two months guaranteed with my greatest comfort. God asked me to do this mission and I am already starting to see ways that he is looking out for me along the way.

Now, in my opinion, the very best part- for the two months that we are in Ecuador, my team and I will be serving at a special needs facility called Camp Hope. I wanted to do this, I have a passion for working with special needs, but that is not to say that it won’t be challenging. It is hard knowing how much work and responsibility is necessary to care for these people every day, and the fact that I can only help for two months. But what I am learning is that all I can do is my very best for the time that I’m serving at Camp Hope. My mission each day is to serve the ladies that work there every day and the beneficiaries of Camp Hope. I am so grateful to be serving in this wonderful place in any way that I can. All I want to do is let these beautiful people know that they are so loved.

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me financially and prayerfully to get to where I am! Please reach out to me if you want to know more about my journey or just want to talk!!
