Hey loves,
I’ve been in Guatemala for two and a half weeks and I’m truly thriving. The cultural, the people, the smells that waft down the street from the vendors selling street food ( that we aren’t suppose to eat — because parasites — but we eat anyways because its delicious… sorry mom and dad :// ) are all so welcoming. The cultural is a family based cultural where instead of asking someone what they do or what they want to be when they grow up, you ask them how their family is or how many kids they hope to have some day. The people have welcomed us in with open arms and are always super excited when “the gringos” come and visit. And the food, don’t even get me started on how freaking delicious the food is, I’m not kidding it’s amazing. These things make this country so welcoming and completely amazing, but they’re only part of why I’m thriving.
The main reason I’m thriving is because of blurry giggles,
dancing in the rain,
mischievous boys,

and students who are eager to learn about both English and Jesus.

God is doing big things in Guatemala, and the reason that I’m thriving is because I am so thankful that the Lord invited me to be a part of it! Giggling little girls and teammates so filled with the joy of the Lord that they dance in the rain… boys who are so mischievous I barely know what to do with them and sweet little girls who sit quietly in class… all these different things are special in their own way and make me know for sure that here is where I’m suppose to be for the here and now!
Thanks for reading the weekly update. Excited to share more next week!
Until next time,
K
