MERRY CHRISTMAS FRIENDS AND FAMILY!!!

I hope you are all having a BLESSED Christmas…spending the day celebrating with family and friends!! I just wanted to share with you something pretty CRAZY that I did…some people may say I wasn’t in my right mind when I agreed to do this 🙂

Mama, please don’t kill me for doing it, but…

I BUNGEE JUMPED OFF THE BRIDGE AT VICTORIA FALLS!!

I can’t physically be at home with you all to share in the Christmas joy and cheer, so….. I will share some photos of this experience, hoping that they allow you to feel like you were right there with me as I jumped off the bridge!! Be sure to read till the end…I made sure to leave yall an extra special treat 🙂

I’m sooo incredibly thankful for the opportunity to get the chance to intertwine memories and experiences like this with sharing the love of Jesus in all the countries and places we go…God is good!!

It’s the climbbbbbb (cue Miley Cyrus music)…

More like it’s the falllllll!! (but forreal, it really was) Haha Ok so going into this whole thing I was feeling pretty confident. Ya know, I’m like I GOT THIS!!

Well….let me telllllll you. READING about bungee jumping and actually getting suited up ready to BUNGEE JUMP are 2 very different things. They say a picture is worth a thousand words….take a look at mine below.

Does that look like a GENUINELY excited person to you!??? Haha no!!

One look at this gorge, and the once confident Katie was like “Aeeesshh man…”

Soooo many questions running through my mind!! Like what on earth did I get myself into...is this safe?? Is this EVEN legal? Who in their right mind would agree to do something like this?? And who on earth would ever PAY to do something like this…

Me.

Apparently this is my “I’M TERRIFIED AND FEEL LIKE I AM ABOUT TO DIE BUT WILL CONTINUE TO ACT LIKE EVERYTHING IS FINEEEEE AND MAKE IT LOOK LIKE I AM A HAPPY CAMPER BECAUSE THIS IS HOW I AM CHOOSING TO COPE WITH MY FEARS IN A SEEMINGLY HEALTHY MANNER” face

[SIDE NOTE] So I have had a FEW outlandish people make mention that I ever so SLIGHTLY resemble a gecko (what a lovely creature to be referenced to, right??)…but I decided that maybe, just maybe, in this ONE photo I KIND of see the resemblance…

BAMMMMMM.

Haha Anywaysss, let’s get back to photos of me right before I took the plunge in Zambia

Well, they got me all strapped up and ready to go. I guess there’s no pulling the plug on the thing at this point….

Yep…what was I thinking…I’m thinking I may need to find a new group of friends to be hanging around…. What sort of friends let you do stuff like this??

The friends who KNOW you…the friends who remind you of WHO you are and WHAT great things you are capable of…especially during those times when you forget

 And so…I took the plunge

Face first into the abyss of the great Victoria Falls…

Soaring like a swan (because that’s what I was told to do…really)

 Falling.…..

 Still falling….

 DONE!!!!

Now hanging (and for quite some time…it felt like) haha…

 And then THIS HAPPENED….

I felt like I was on TOP OF THE WORLD (or maybe more like I’d fallen off the world or something like that).

I feel like there are moments and memories that will stay with us for a lifetime…THIS IS ONE OF THOSE

I just want to thank all my supporters and friends and family who pray for me day in and day out. The Lord is showing me a lot…a lot about people…a lot about cultures different than mine…and a lot about myself. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t be on this thing called the World Race. I wouldn’t be jumping off a bridge at Victoria Falls in Zambia.

This journey isn’t easy. But having moments like this…moments where you meet God in your fears and come out victorious and on top…these moments help give you momentum to keep pushing forward…these moments serve as gentle reminders and are encouragement that WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.

And now for that treat I mentioned…

Check out the VIDEO FOOTAGE BELOW and be prepared for your heart to DROP!! Share with me in this experience of a lifetime!

Merry Christmas to you all…and hope you enjoy the gift:)

Much love,

Kt
