What does it look like to be a Child of God?
A couple of months ago I was in a car with a group of friends driving from Orlando to Atlanta. We had just finished a Spirit filled conference in Orlando. This conference was a life changer. We had lots to talk about on this drive back. One question came up, “Do you feel like it is hard to be a child of God?”
The five of us in the car all pondered this question. Every single one of us in different ways all said it can be hard to really believe we are children of God.
Ever since this question came up a few months ago my heart has felt very sad. This means we have an orphan heart. But we are not orphans. We are children of a King. Since then I have been praying for God to show me what it’s like to be a child of God. I also have been praying for God to reveal to me how much he really loves me.
Since then God has been giving me revelations of His love.
Once getting to Peru, we started Training for the new Racers. While training God revealed to me a Glimpse of how much he loves me. I can’t even explain how it was or how he did it. But all I know is he Pierced my heart in a different way. He showed me a glimpse of what a father’s love really looks like.
We truly have no idea how much God truly loves us. But the more we let God in and the more our hearts are changed we are able to accept that love.
I think that is the biggest thing that I am learning from God on how to be a Child is to just simply be, and accept the love God has for us. Our father wants us to be who he created us to be. We can do that by knowing truly we are a child of God proclaiming it and walking out in the inheritance God has given us!
So, is it hard to believe I am a child of God?
No, it’s not. He my father, He is my comforter, He guides me and shapes me, He is my friend, He is my everything. I will always and forever will be HIS! I will be his child and nothing will ever separate us.
Just like my earthly father will never not be my father, same as my God will never not be my father.
My prayer and my hearts desire is that every single person gets a glimpse of his love and truly knows they are a Child of God. That they all believe it in their heart and not just head knowledge.
