Its been awhile since I have updated everyone. I feel like this time is going by so fast. I am just going to update what we have been doing this last Month.
Last Month we were in Malaysia. Out of all the places we have been so far Malaysia has been my favorite. As soon aw we stepped off the ferry and were able to explore Penang, Malaysia I had so much Joy.
The people were so friendly in Malaysia. It was also very helpful because pretty much everyone in Malaysia knew English. We stayed in Penang which is a small island in Malaysia. The Culture in Penang was so diverse. There were many different cultures, from Malay, Chinese, and Indian. The food was so diverse and amazing. I think Indian Food has become my new favorite food group. I also believe my Spice level has gone up a notch because I am loving the spicy food. We also met a couple who owned their own coconut shake shop. Cari, one of my teammates, met them and became great friends with the owners. We ended up going to MK Coconut shakes everyday for about a week until we left. We became such good friends they invited us to a wedding. This wedding was a traditional Indian/Hindu Wedding. The wedding was amazing to say the least. I felt like I was dreaming the entire time we were there. We bought some saree’s and went to the wedding. It was awesome to see the different traditions and rituals that I have never seen before. The Indian food was also amazing. I decided Indian Food is one of my new favorite food groups. The Love that these amazing people showed us made us feel so at home. We loved every minute of it and loved them as well.
While in Penang we were praying about where to go and what His vision was for us. As I was praying God gave me a vision of bees. I saw the vision of bees and did not really understand what that meant. I was talking to a teammate and he was saying when he gets words or visions from God about a specific place sometimes, he will google the word and the country or the place. I was thinking about this and was thinking how simple that could be. Sometimes when I get a word or vision, I can think way too much into and try to find the deeper meaning into it. I figured hey maybe it can be that simple. So, I went to google and searched bees in Malaysia. One thing that stood out to me was stingless black bees in Langkawi Island. The produce a different kind of Honey it is actual sour and not sweet. I started praying a little more for Malaysia and Langkawi in General. God then gave me another vision of an aerial view of trees and this long bridge. I saw that and thought wow that is really cool. Then I kept searching more on google at images of Langkawi Island and the exact same vision god gave me of this beautiful green view of trees and a bridge popped up. It is actually very known in Langkawi. It is called Langkawi Sky Bridge. After all of that I almost everyone that I ended up talking to that was a local started talking about Langkawi Island. After I discussed with my Team about what God had been talking to me about, they were all on board and we ended up going to Langkawi Island.
We got to taste the sour Honey and also got to go on the sky bridge. Also while we were in Langkawi a woman we met in Penang decided to come and meet us there and do a class with us called Unveil your calling. This teaching was very impactful for each one of us in different ways. The best part about these teachings was that we were able to be vulnerable with each other in a way we have not been vulnerable before. God was there the entire time and it was so impactful for us all.
I wish I could write and tell you all about every person that we have met, every food that I have tried good and bad, every moment, every prayer, every good and bad thing. But here is a glimpse of a few things that have been super impactful. There is a Greek word that I just learned Agalliao. It means exult, to be glad. It literally means you are so full of joy that you have to shout you have to sing or dance. You can’t hold it inside. I feel like this word describes me personally on such a deep level. I have always had a lot of Joy and feel like joy is one of my strengths and Gifts from God. While being in Malaysia I felt it even more than I ever have.
I have loved every minute of Malaysia and would love to go back again someday. I feel as though I found more joy, and found more freedom to be who I am truly created to be while being in Malaysia. Malaysia you and all your people have a special place in my heart.
