Siem Reap month 3.. I left home 69 days ago…

One week ago my team and I went to an event that the church we have been attending (ICF) was hosting. It was called Ladies Celebration. We went and sang worship together, listened to a message, then sang some more, and had dessert. The message that they gave was on inner healing. They talked about all types of abuse and how believing the lies about yourself leads to feeling unworthy and ashamed. About how you shouldn’t hold on to your anger or doubt. That you should let yourself trust again and most of all, they talked about forgiveness. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Take a fresh wound for example, if you cover it up with a band aid, but never let it air out, it can’t begin the healing process that it needs to go through. So if you hide away and ignore your feelings then they won’t heal, but if you admit your feelings, then you can begin your healing process. Will it hurt? Yes, but it will hurt worse and have long term effects if you leave it locked up and buried deep. A little note about forgiveness: it doesn’t make what they did to you okay, but forgiveness will help you walk freely and you will no longer have that on your shoulders. I want you all to know that I am beginning the process of forgiveness with someone, I am going to rip off the band aid and begin the healing process. Will it be easy? No. Will it hurt? Yes, but I am going to trust the Lord in this and He will comfort me and show me through. Matthew 6:15 “But if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” (ESV) It’s your decision to start the healing process, but I recommend starting it and taking whatever your wound is to the Lord, no matter how big or small, He will help you find redemption. If you decide to start the healing process and would like someone to talk to about it, you can always email me at [email protected] or Facebook message me. Philippians 1:6 says, “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”

I will be posting a new blog by Tuesday 11/20/18 🙂
