This week was the last full week of ministry. Shocking as it is, the Race is coming to a close. Although we still have 2 more weeks of ministry, we only have 5 days of ministry left due to national holidays. When thinking about this, it is hard to believe. I want to use this blog as a reminder of all of the places that my team has been for ministry and what each of the countries looked like for ministry.
ECUADOR – 2 MONTHS
It seems like an eternity ago. Even though my ministry was not what I expected when coming into the Race, it made me work through the hard days and also depend on God when I knew that I couldn’t go any more. I saw God the biggest when we were on our first debrief. From having a vision of the sign, to witnessing God heal the man’s back, it was truly incredible. Here are a few pictures from our ministry, Dunamis, and from debrief.
PERU – 1 MONTH
Peru was filled with a lot of personal growth for myself. From what we were told, we would be working at an orphanage. However, with the change of schedule of the orphanage and what they needed help with, our couple of weeks there were focused on us. Peru also contained a lot of adventure which was exciting. Peru was a nice rest to our hard first 2 month in Ecuador.
GUATEMALA – 3 MONTHS
I saw God so much over the three months that we were there. I saw God in visions, examples of others, teachings, healings, and several other things. Yes, I had questioned if God really could do these things before the Race. I had heard of stories where God would carry out his greatness and show these things to others, but I questioned if those things could really happen to me. They are so true. They can and will happen to you. The biggest thing that God broke within me was where I was putting my hope. I can hope in God and depend on him for everything. My veins on my leg are healed. Even though they still bulge, the pain is gone. I have been able to run hard and they haven’t hurt. This time in Guatemala grew my view of who God really is.
CAMBODIA – 3 MONTHS
Cambodia has been hard. From going from the high of seeing God so much to feeling like he wasn’t here, was very hard. I have seen God do awesome things here, but not as much as in Guatemala. Cambodia has brought new things and at the same time, it has instilled in me to pursue God even when I may not be in the “high” of seeing him. Finishing the last full week of ministry has actually been challenging, also tiring. But looking back on all that has happened over the past 9 months, it has been worth it to finish this last full week well.
