We made it to India! North east India in Manipur to be exact. We are out of the city and in a village. It’s been 12 days since we arrived, and I’m finally getting settled into my new space. I always enjoy giving you guys a run down of how life is going to be, so here’s the situation:

First off, we are in a closed country meaning while it is not illegal to be a christian, it is illegal to share the gospel. For safety reasons I will not be able to share my blogs while in India to my personal social media accounts but if you feel led to share it on your social media accounts, please do! I would greatly appreciate it since I am unable to do so on my end.

Living: We are back to SQUAD LIVING! This means all 50 of us are back together in one space after our one month of being apart in Nepal. Our new home is at a bible college in a village! We are staying in one of their dorm buildings. Us 40 gals share 4 squatty potties, 2 sinks, and 3 bucket showers with cold water. Rooms are 2 bunk beds per room (4-5 people a room).

Ministry so far:

1. We have done church construction for a local church in the community- literally building up the church! How cool. We moved around 6,500 bricks and filled sand bags to prepare for when they make concrete.

2.We have set up and served at a children’s retreat where 1500+ kiddos come together to learn about Jesus!

3. We have painted school tables for the incoming students that arrive in February.

4. We spent a day moving bundles of iron bars up to a chapel construction site.

5. Kitchen duty! Each day one of the seven teams is assigned kitchen and we help prepare each meal and wash the dishes.

Note: I will add more pictures to this blog in due time, but my wifi is currently super slow and won’t load the images!

Future ministry opportunities: This list includes possible ministry days we could have in our two months of being here.

  • Conversation English with the college students
  • Church construction
  • Hospital construction
  • Mini medical camps
  • Secondary school education
  • Youth activities
  • Distributing books and uniforms
  • Rehab center

After about 2 weeks of being here, I am finally getting adjusted to the changes. For some reason this transition has felt like the most difficult, but God keeps reminding me to have patience and grace through all the good and not so good days! I can’t wait to keep sharing this journey with y’all! Please keep the prayers coming. Thanks for reading!
