Georgia (the country)

Because I was so behind on my whats app updates last month I decided to do a recap blog of Georgia for everyone.

For the 7th month on the race Leadership and I prayed into what team I should join and we all got Team River. Bella, Rebecca and Laura Leigh. This adventurous team decided to travel to as many cities in Georgia as possible in two weeks. I on the other hand was originally not that thrilled about that many travel days. I joked about how I think that the race has killed my adventurous spirit but I think the month of Georgia really started to help turn that around.

We traveled to Butami, Kutaisi and Mtskheta. We were in Mtskheta the longest and it was such a small village town. The type of area people take a day trip into. Mind you it was also winter here so it was freezing and the ice cold wind did not help at allll. People were rarely outside, and the people we did see we started to get to know.

Georgia is known for some of the oldest churches in the world.  So we took long walks to a few in the neighboring mountains, some just in our town. It was BEAUTIFUL!!!

We even took a more intense hike into the snow to a Fortress. Steep was an understatement! The churches we saw along the way were my favorite. There was much history and care for these buildings.

Then we finally made it to the top. To my surprise I haven’t hiked much on the race. While at home I hike as much as I can. This day felt like a day back home.  But instead of somewhere on the Appalachian trail I was in the middle of some bear infested mountains in Georgia at a few centuries old fortress! But what meant most to me was that we got to worship Jesus in a place that was meant for protection hundreds of years ago. (Corny statement approaching…) But I rejoiced because He is my protection now!

All in all my first two weeks in Georgia with Team River was interesting. In terms of ministry it was pretty slim. The winter weather hindered a lot so it looked like prayer walks and I got to pray for one of our friends businesses because she had to close due to low tourist activity. It looked like a lot of out pour into team river and allowing the Lord to minister to me. He took me through some awkward conversations about Him loving me and me learning just how much a romantic He is (Blog Here). It’s months like this He continues to change my perspective of ministry. If our hearts are obedient and pointed to Him thats all He cares for.

But thats only the first two weeks… Peep part two, because guess what….?

MY MOM CAME TO VISIT!!!!!!
