So last month in Uganda, I felt the Lord calling me to do something very hard. Since I’ve been on this race, I’ve been learning so much about God and how to live a life that glorifies Him. I’ve been learning a lot of this from worship, but God revealed to be that I don’t always come into worship with a heart seeking after His presence. I lot of time I get distracted by how my voice sounds, the types of songs we are singing, and I lose sight of what true worship before the Lord looks like. So He called me to fast from singing for a month in order to take a step back and learn what true worship was again without the distraction of my own voice. I learned so much during this month and I felt so close to the Lord during this time. I felt like I could hear His voice clearer than ever before, and it was just because I made space for Him.
I wrote the lyrics to this song during my fast, and I didn’t get to put a tune to them until this month, but this song has been so healing for me. It has helped me recently my focus on God and I sing this song a lot on my own time jsut as a reminder of what God taught me during that time.
