We are currently working with a ministry in San José, Costa Rica primarily focused on transforming and restoring women’s lives.

They have an incredible business model that we got to learn a little bit about this morning. This ministry is one that is focused on these women’s lives long-term and not just today. They seek to allow these women to recreate themselves in their identity, socially and in their families. They learn values and values become characteristics which then transforms their life and brings actual tangible change. The women who are in the program learn skills-like sewing, nails, massaging, cooking, english and reflexology…so that when their work life is ever changing they can always apply their skills to work in some way, to provide some rice and beans to eat and pay monthly rent in their house.

Transforma is offering real tangible hope to the hopeless, and is a beacon of light to those who seem to be lost in the darkness. And instead of just pulling them out of the darkness and saving them, they walk alongside the women teaching them and always pointing them to the Lord so they know who actually saves them.

We are only with this ministry for one more day (sad!) but i am so excited to hear more incredible stories of transformation in the lives of women here in San Jose. This business model for ministry was so inspiring to all of my team into what missions needs to look like everywhere.
