Fundraising update: I’m fully funded!! Hallelujah! What a journey its been. Thank you for partnering with me and believing in what the Lord is doing through me.
I’ve been trying to keep a daily journal of what life looks like on the race, but I haven’t kept up with it the last couple months…as I was trying to get back on track I was recapping my favorite conversations during the months…
~Malaysia~
This month I loved doing regular things like going to lunch or the mall or the beach and letting the Lord guide steps and conversations. Its so easy at home to make a checklist and put your head down and forget to ask God what His plan for your day is, and most times it looks way different than your checklist.
One of our last days in Malaysia we were having breakfast at the hostel and I was reading a book from the hostel called Jesus in Islam, to help conversations with the locals and understand who Jesus is to them. As I was finishing up, a girl asked me why I was reading this book if I am also reading the bible. I sat down, with her and talked about religion…she is from Australia grew up a Christian and now questioning her beliefs and her friend Ahmed is from Israel and is Muslim. Such a divine appointment from the Lord that was right in front of me, I didn’t have to go searching for it. I didn’t ever want the conversation to end, there were so many questions and so many things I wanted to tell them about Jesus. I know He planted a seed there and I am still praying for them to know Jesus.
~Lesotho~
Our teams went to a village to stay for a couple of nights toward the end of the month, but I didn’t go the first night because I was sick. I arrived the 2nd day and found out we were going to a school, they had a specific plan of what they were going to do so I just sat with the kids and watched my teammates share a story to empower the kids in their walk with Jesus. I was perfectly content with where I was, in the sea of kids just watching. But we had a bunch of time at the end so my friend Savannah suggests I share the gospel. Definitely not what I had thought I would be doing this day, but sickness or tiredness does not keep me from sharing the gospel!!
Debrief in South Africa
Every 2 months we have a debrief, which is a time to rest, reflect on the month, reconnect with squad mates who we hadn’t seen all month, etc. I spent some time at the mall, it was glorious…so clean, real toilets!!!!, actual stores, wifi and an ice skating rink!! I had so many things I wanted to get done but I have found malls are one of my favorite places to meet people and tell them about Jesus. Which is exactly what happened at a little crafty store. Instead of just shallow conversation while purchasing a bible from these women I actually asked them questions about their lives. I stayed for over an hour and then went back the next day and had lunch with them, went shopping and ate ice cream. They love gospel music and recognize Jesus in their lives. As I was about to leave I said I would see them again in Heaven and they communicated they weren’t sure if they would be there. What an opportunity He presented for these daughters of His to know if they believe in Jesus they can live with Him in Heaven forever!! I never wanted to leave but we can connect through facebook and email, so ministry and relationship doesn’t have to end.
These are just small snippets of some moments I want to remember forever. The Lord has significantly altered my view of ministry and that it occurs anywhere anytime with anyone. We are all His sons and daughters and people need to know they are so incredibly loved by their Heavenly Father across the entire earth!
