Hey Friends!

A little update before I introduce you to my wonderful teammates…I just moved home from Colorado to Iowa *tear*, and although I will miss my Colorado friends, I am excited to be home for a month with my family and time to prepare for the race!! I have raised about $10,000 (hooray and thank you!!) but I still have got $8,000 to go. Would you help me get fully funded before launch on October 5th? Even $10 would be AMAZING!!

Also I am partnering with Gorings.com all this month, which means that when you buy a ring, 30% of the profits will go directly to helping me go on the World Race. Go check out their site…right now 🙂

OK NOW THAT I’VE CAUGHT YOU UP…

I’ll tell you how I got onto this wonderful team of 7 people.
For the first 3 days of camp they put us into different teams based on personality type, prayed about who should go with who and heard from Holy Spirit on who to put together, and what they had seen bond in the first day of camp.
AND LET ME TELL YA IT WORKS.
Each team that I was on worked so well together, I felt heard, and loved in each group.
And so the Freedom Runners was born—Jacob, Abby, Lauren, Cody, Theo, Shawn and Jenny all working together for one common goal: to be the church to one another and to all peoples, in hopes of furthering the Kingdom of Christ.

The Freedom Runners is a name of a real Wolfpack, and we liked the idea of a Wolfpack mentality for our team. A Wolfpack mentality means…having unlimited patience, never ending curiosity, desire to work as a team, robust strategy and careful planning, sense of urgency, and unwillingness to quit.
Now tell me who doesn’t want to be a part of a team that has that mentality?? Our team is all in for each other and all in for the gospel. Don’t get me wrong our team isn’t perfect and we will face difficulties and problems, but as long as we are rooted in Jesus and point each other to the cross we will be just fine 🙂
Check out the rest of my teammates blogs, I’ve got a really great group of people that I will be doing life with the next few months.
