Day 19 Blog Challenge: Packing tips from my perspective!
Some of you probably wonder how I pack for 11 months to 11 countries! Well I am here to tell you how from my perspective what I should’ve pack and what I should’ve packed going on the world race! So I am going to take you to a step by step process of what you should pack and not pack for the World Race!
0. I would not bring a internal frame backpack and stick everything in your airporter! Because some airport will not take luggage over 40 pounds and if you want souvenirs leave room for that!
0. Do not pack toiletries because you will buy them along the way! I would pack your toothbrush and a towel but everything else you will buy at your ministry location.
0. Get a daypack if you want to carry extra stuff and a tiny side bag to carry your wallet, passport and other documents that you don’t want stolen.
0. I been sleeping in beds most of my race but bring a sleeping pad! A good one not a cheap one! Because it’s going to be your bed for 11 months. If you pop your sleeping pad bring super glue and patch cover!
0. Bring clothes that you would wear at home but my wardrobe changed because I like to be clicked into the culture lol
0. Bring enough underwear! Trust me you will thank me later??
0. Bring personal money! It will be for toiletries, Adventure days and souvenirs!
0. Bring a new pair of running shoes and sandals! They will go bad really really fast! But I wear sandals a lot so if your like me bring less socks. You will thank me! Buy some foot powder too!
0. I would bring sleeping bag, sleeping liner and tent to be safe! I haven’t had to use those much but I would see bring them just in case. Plus always check the weather for each country.
0. Lastly bring your smile!
So that’s it in a nutshell from me! Hopefully this is helpful for future racers! But everyone’s trip is different so be there with no expectations and let God guide you where you go!
One more thing I forgot…. Bring your phone for pictures and a IPad to save all your stuff like movies because travel days are long!
God bless you!
