I wanted to take time to introduce my amazing teammates so you know who I’ll be living with throughout the first 4-5 months of the race! I’m so excited to do life with these women and can’t wait to learn from each of them, so without further ado, meet my team, the Americanos! (We really love coffee!)
Katrina Chaney (Top right)- This girl brings me so much joy and her smile can light up any room! At camp, when I needed a good laugh, I looked for Katrina. She is strong and capable and has such a heart for the Lord and His people. I think I’m so drawn to her because she reminds me so much of myself and I feel at home with her. Even before camp, when we had only talked over text, I hoped I would be on her team. I can’t wait to do life with this one! Katrina is also our team Storyteller, she will hold us accountable in sharing our stories and help us come up with great ideas!

Joanna Phillips (Bottom left)- Ya’ll, this girl exemplifies what a Proverbs 31 woman looks like. She is patient, kind, and has the sweetest, most gentle spirit of anyone I’ve ever met! As if that isn’t enough to want to be on a team with her, she’s also funny and has pretty great dance moves! I’m so excited to do life with her and most importantly learn from her! Joanna is our team leader! I don’t think they could have picked a better person for the job! I will get to work closely with her and I don’t wanna brag, but I think we’re going to be a pretty awesome team!
Vanessa Donnamaria (Bottom Middle)- When I think of Vanessa, one word comes to my mind, Warrior. She is bold in her faith, she fights for what she believes in, and she has an incredible heart for serving! Vanessa is also the life of the party, she has ALL the personality! She always has a smile on her face and she’s always down for an impromptu dance party! Living life with her will never be boring and I can’t wait to learn from her! Vanessa is one of two worship coordinators on our squad! Our leadership team knows what’s up, this job is perfect for her!

Alivya Wimmer (Bottom right)- Sporty Spice. That’s who Alivya makes me think of! She is strong and athletic and everything I’ve never been in sports! Not only is she good at probably every sport she plays, but she also exudes strength, courage, and grace. I have a feeling at some point next year she will be the one trying to talk us into bungee jumping or cliff diving and I’m not ready. Maybe her courage will be contagious? Alivya is also hilarious, she has a way of turning not-so-great circumstances into comical commentaries that are the best! I’m so looking forward to laughing and learning with her! Alivya is one of two beauty for ashes coordinators on our squad! Her job is to help facilitate retreats for women that we encounter and to bring them hope and walk alongside them in freedom through our faith stories and community. How dope is that!?
And of course, me! I get the honor of serving my team as the treasurer! I will be in charge of creating budgets every month and handle all of our money for food, lodging, and transportation. Dave Ramsey would be proud!
