Dear Family and Friends,

For the past 7 years, I have been working as a hairstylist and currently manage a salon in Liberty, SC. I have been blessed with amazing family and friends and a wonderful Church. God has given me a love for people, a heart that breaks for the broken, and a desire to build Christian community. I believe I have been called to tangibly serve people in need around the world. God has been working in my heart throughout the last three years as I have been serving the women and children of Nicaragua by sharing Christ with them, teaching workshops, and loving on the sweetest children. These opportunities taught me so much about using my gifts to help others, even if that means leaving my comfort zone. To fulfill my calling, I will be embarking on a journey called the World Race.

The World Race is an 11 month Christian mission trip to 11 countries around the world. One of the unique things about the World Race is that it’s not only a mission trip but also an intensive discipleship program designed to launch my generation into our specific kingdom calling. A squad of about 50 missionaries will be split into teams of 5-8 people, and we will travel the world together, partnering with existing ministries along the way to encourage them and help with their work.  Our ministry will look different in every country, but will most likely include some of the following: orphan care, street ministry, rehabilitating women rescued from the sex trafficking industry, disaster relief, caring for the homeless, serving in refugee camps, evangelism, church planting, and hospital visits. We will survive on a very limited budget of about $4 a day for food and lodging. We will carry everything we need for a year in backpacks and often sleep in tents.  Although the specific route may change, as of now the 11 countries we will minister in between January 11-November 30, 2011 are: Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Botswana, Swaziland, Lesotho, and South Africa.

Primarily, I would like to ask for your prayer support.  Next year will undoubtedly be the biggest challenge I have ever faced and it must be anchored in prayer. My personal requests include: that God will bring our squad together in unity as we prepare to be one another’s family for almost a year, that God will prepare me for the challenges of living on the road and changing cultures every month, that He will provide the necessary financial support, and that He will open my mind and heart to the incredible opportunities for service that are coming my way.

I would also like to ask you to support this ministry with a financial gift. World Race participants are required to raise financial support to cover all international travel to 11 countries, lodging, food, training, and ministry costs. In order to be fully funded by our final deadline, April 30th 2019, I need to raise $18,200.  As I take this large step of faith in trusting the Lord, would you prayerfully consider sponsoring me at $50, $100, or $150 a month? If you are unable to sponsor me monthly, a one-time donation would be very much appreciated. Every little bit counts!

I am trying to live my faith out loud, as I cling to the promises in His word. Please remember to pray for us all as we prepare, for our families who we leave behind, for the Lord’s guidance, and for a safe journey! Thank you so much for prayerfully considering to help sponsor me on this mission! May God bless you for your time and support!

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9

          In His service,
