During what seemed like an endless 4 days of travel from Guatemala to Cambodia, I started writing this poem to entertain myself and describe this travel experience.

A thunderstorm was brewing over Mexico City on Tuesday evening, March 6.

The plane couldn’t land and we had to change plans.

Eventually we made it back, but not without changing tracks.

Because of the delay we missed our plane to LA.

So we sat in the airport dozing, but never fully asleep, until 3am when to action Adventures in Missions would leap.

With 7 different flights to 4 different cities, we would make it to the states with time for airport chicky (chick-fil-a).

No time for the city, no time for a shower, by this time the 40 of us haven’t slept more than  3 hours.

The time finally came for the 15 hour flight, once we were in the air there wasn’t an eye open in sight.

We slept hard and slept long, right through March 7, by the time we finally landed it was March 8, 05:57.

One dollar coffee, two dollar nuggets, an empty Chinese airport, and a half-full stomach.

When the flight to Cambodia finally hit the ground, we were off, we were hot, there was no time to mess around.

To work we went filling out forms in a fuss, after all was complete 3/5 of the squad left for Battambang in a bus.

Tired bodies and energy spent, once in our new home to the showers we went.

At the end of the day when everyone was clean, we crashed onto our sleeping pads with hopes of good dreams.

The end! Thanks for indulging in my little poem!

Many Blessings,
