Hello friends and family!
Below is a revised version of my fundraising letter and information on how to donate to my WR Gap Year fund! Fundraising is not only a financial process, but a mental process. For the last few weeks I have been praying to have the right mindset about fundraising, and making an effort to trust God’s plan with these finances. In the end, His name is on the money, it belongs to Him, and he will always provide for those who trust Him.
One of the unique things about the World Race is that it’s not only a mission trip, but also an intensive discipleship program designed to guide my generation into finding our specific calling. Through the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the hope and love of the Lord to these tribes and nations in need of restoration.
My call to missions began when my family moved to Germany in 2013. I found myself living among children of missionaries from all over the world, and adults who had given up the life they had, to serve the Lord in a country that was not their own. My school was deeply rooted in missions and I was given many opportunities to spread the gospel and God’s grace, not only in my community, but in other countries as well. My parents’ trust in God’s plan for our family is what inspired me to do the World Race most. When leaving Boone, North Carolina for Kandern, Germany, my parents learned to let go of our possessions and our living situation and give it all to God. They gave up their jobs, the house they raised their kids in, the church that had become family, and many possessions we loved but could live without. We moved from our comfortable life in the United States to a foreign and minimalist life in Germany. My greatest challenge for this trip will be letting go of any control I have over my life right now and giving the reins to the Lord.
As I prepare for my departure, another trial I will face is putting my faith in God’s finances. Like most other mission organizations, World Race participants are required to fundraise for financial support. As racers, we are working to further God’s kingdom across our world, but we can’t do it alone; we need prayers, encouragement and financial support. In order to leave fully funded in September I will need to raise $15,800. This money will cover all of my expenses on the 9 month trip including food, shelter, travel, etc. As I take this leap of faith in the Lord, would you prayerfully consider joining me with monthly support or a similar donation?
If you have any further questions on how to support me or simply want to learn more about my Gap Year with the World Race feel free to contact me via email, text, phone call, or through my social media outlets. ([email protected])
Much love,
Gracie Justice
