Ecuador was not on our original route but we had to get to Colombia.

Our time in Ecuador was to be another “Ask the Lord” time.

We had reached out to an organization we had researched and looked through different websites to find a place for lodging.

We ended up booking a wonderful home within our minimal budget that allowed for a private room for each of us. We ended up finding out that the home was a missionary home where the Logisitics Coordinator of the organization we had previously reached out to — Casa Mis Sueños. God was just showing off now.

IMG_1693.jpegAlthough we were not able to volunteer at the organization due to the extensive background check that took a month’s time when we only had 10 days there, we were able to volunteer elsewhere through connections our hostess made. She introduced us to her friend, Jean, to us and his family administered a private Christian School— Computer World.

Our team was able to spend some time at Computer World working with the teachers and the students. We were only in Ecuador for 10 short days but it was apparent on the first day that we wish we could have stayed longer.

Unfortunately, I fell ill and was not able to spend as much time at the school as I wish I could have. You can read my beautiful teammate’s blog about my Team’s experience at Computer World— Aryne Gardea and Emily Ann Burger have neat blogs written about it.

I ended up visiting an informal camp of Venezuelans Refugees. Throughout our travels in South America, we have seen many Venezuelans displaced and seeking refuge. You may have noticed I mentioned meeting a Venezuelan couple in Lima, Peru and praying with them. (Did you know about Venezuelans fleeing their country? Read this for more info).

Now, I am in Medellín, Colombia, once the most dangerous city in the world. We have been here since the 15th of October and will leave the 8th of November for AFRICA!

In a few days, I would like to catch you up on all that has been happening here in Colombia.

I still have $2,344 left to raise before I am fully funded. If you would like to consider donating, you can do so here: Support Frieda..
