A week ago, September 21st through the 27th, our squad met up in Lima, Peru. Our squad’s leadership believes in pouring into us and developing us so we have a few Leadership Development weeks or weekends theoughout these 11 months where they facilitate different sessions and activations.

For the time we were in Lima, our leaders guided us through what they discerned as Miracle Week.

We had multiple sessions scheduled during our time here— Worship, Soul Care, Spiritual Gifts, Prophecy, Intimacy with the Trinity, Self Care Tools, Leadership Assessment, Listening to the Voice of God, Finding Kingdom, Myers Briggs Personality, and much more.

My amazing friend, Riley, also put on a Beauty 4 Ashes event for us. Beauty 4 Ashes is an Adventures in Missions ministry that holds events and retreats around the world creating a safe environment for women to exchange the ashes of isolation, shame, and wounds for crowns of beauty and restoration through the healing power of Jesus Christ. Our squadmate invited the men of our squad and we had a great “Beauty 4 Ashes and ‘Staches” event 🙂

Actually, Riley, is now trying to raise funds (click link to find out more) for a Beauty 4 Ashes event for the women at the ministry we are working with this month. I will be posting about this ministry soon! Just trying to catch you all up since I didn’t post for a few weeks. If you want a head start, here is the website of the ministry we are working with now in Medellín, Colombia:Ciudad Refugio (City of Refuge)

We even got to meet a teammate’s brother-in-law’s family. They invited us in and showed us around their beautiful town. Oh, how I love that warm latino culture. Felt like being home.

I needed this time to be poured into and process some of the things the Lord has been teaching me. Our schedules were pretty busy during these days but we also had time to go out and make connections with locals and put into practice some of the things we learned during the sessions.

On an off day, I took advantage of some affordable surfing lessons and had a blast! I even went back out on my own the next day! New hobby?!
But I think one of my favorite moments had to be when my squad mates Rob and Brandon so graciously took me to the “Cat Park” even though they are NOT cat people. While there, we ended up striking a conversation with a couple from Venezuela who was now living in Peru and the guy was looking for a job. (Did you know about Venezuelans fleeing their country? Read this for more info). Toward the end of our conversation, we were able to pray over them and declare God’s goodness. He had an interview the coming Monday. So, when we were in Quito, Ecuador, I reached out to him and his wife to ask how the interview went and HE GOT THE JOB! He had been waiting quite a few months for a job to come through! Unfortunately, I didn’t take any pictures of the cat park!!!

On Friday, September 28th, my team and I made our way to Quito, Ecuador.
During our time in Lima, our squad stepped into a 24hour prayer session. We wanted to claim the city of Lima for the Lord. Here were are requests and proclamations after the 24hours.
