Dear Friends and Family,
First, I’d like to thank you so much for the impact you’ve had on my life. I am forever grateful for relationships that are deep, authentic and intentional, and for the people who have encouraged and supported me in my walk with the Lord. I would not be where I am today as a woman and follower of Jesus without you! I’d like to share with you what is happening in this season of my life, and the new chapter that will be unfolding in the upcoming months for me.
From a very young age, God has given me a heart for missions. More specifically, He’s broken my heart for what breaks His: the lost and hurting people in the world. He’s given me a deep love for people from every background and situation in life. I have had the privilege of serving Him on several short-term mission trips in the past, and have always been overwhelmed at His willingness to use me to accomplish His purpose in the world: to bring the kingdom of heaven to earth! As I was applying to colleges and scholarships at the start of senior year, I began to feel God directing me towards another, more unconventional path. I have decided to follow His call, and will be taking a year off after high school and deferring my college admission one year, to serve Him through missions, and become even more firmly planted in my relationship with Him, my purpose as a Christian, and my focus here on earth.
I will be participating in the World Race Gap Year program with Adventures in Missions, a Christian missions organization, for 9 months. While on this trip I will have the opportunity to live in 4 different countries, and through partnering with local churches, missionaries, and organizations serve in a variety of ways. Basically, I’ll be spending 9 months doing what my heart loves best! Loving people!
Obviously spending 9 months on the mission field is a pretty major choice, and I’m very aware that I won’t be able to do it without y’all.
First, and most importantly, would you consider supporting me in prayer? The World Race is an incredible opportunity that will certainly be impactful and full of amazing experiences, but it will also have its challenges, like being separated from my family and friends for 9 months, tough transitions, and living out of a backpack. I am a strong believer in the power of prayer and would love to have you support me in this way as I am overseas in the upcoming months. I will be updating my blog (http://emmakrone.theworldrace.org/) as often as possible while on the World Race, so you can stay in the loop about my adventures, thoughts, and feelings.
The cost of this 9-month trip is $15,800, which covers all my needs overseas. I will be using my savings, working, and fundraising to help me meet this goal. Would you consider supporting me financially with a one-time or monthly donation? If you’re interested in donating online you can do so by clicking the donate tab on my World Race blog (http://emmakrone.theworldrace.org/) and following the instructions there. If you’d like to donate by mail, you can send a check payable to Adventures in Missions with Emmelia Krone in the memo line to P.O. Box 742570, Atlanta, GA 30374-2570. I am incredibly thankful for any means of support and excited to share my adventures with you all.
I would love to talk or meet with anyone who has questions about my gap year, or with anyone who wants to catch up before I leave in September! Please follow my blog to stay up to date on my months overseas and the months leading up to my departure. Thank you so much for your love and support over the past years of my life! I am incredibly thankful for what God has done in my past and beyond excited to see what my future with Him holds!
All my love,
Emma Krone
