It’s month five and my squad is in Nepal! At the beginning of the month we had a team change. It was hard to say goodbye to my sweet sisters of team Poiema, but I’m so excited for what the Lord has in store for my new team! We will be together for the next four months–Nepal, Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya.

Introducing Team Deepa
Inspired by a street sign, but born from a desire of going deeper with this team. We are committed to spurring each other toward growth: growth in our relationships with each other, in intimacy with God, and in pressing deeper into ministry.
“Deep calls to deep at the roar of your waterfalls; all your breakers and your waves have gone over me.” Psalm 42:7
Deepa also means lamp or light in Hindi.

Michael – Team Leader
Michael has practice in leadership. He knows what works and what doesn’t, and the Lord has blessed his service with much fruit. Michael is very intentional and organized. He looks at people and really sees them, which is both a gift and a discipline. I don’t have to hide anything with Michael; he cares about each one of us, about knowing us, about our growth, and about our team unity. I know this team is going to feel like family with Michael as our leader.

Ben
Ben has many skills. He is intelligent and has the gift of administration. He is also very kind and intentional about building relationships. Ben is an encourager. He always has a word of encouragement for those around him, and he is always looking for ways to help others. He is funny, and his humor is always lighthearted and uplifting. I can tell that being around him is going to make me a better person.

Nate
Nate is one of the funniest people I know. He can effortlessly make a room full of people laugh. I enjoy being around him; he is personable and his laid-back presence is refreshing. Nate is supportive and encouraging. His knowledge and perspectives are always worth listening to. I know I’m going to learn a lot from him.

Emilie
I can’t tell you how pumped I am to be on a team with Emilie. We are similar in a lot of ways, and it’s beautiful to have someone who understands the little things, like being tall and having a name no one can spell correctly. Emilie is hilarious, affectionate, and real. I can’t wait to spend every day of the next four months with her.

Lauren
Lauren inspires me in so many ways. She is bold; she won’t let fear or anything else hold her back from doing what God calls her to do. She is generous with her time and things. She is encouraging and relational, always asking questions to get to know people better. Lauren is fun and joyful. I love the way she sees each person as who God created them to be–beautiful, unique, and worth knowing. She also always has a prayer on her lips, something I deeply admire.
