Dear supporter,
Every donation I have received for this trip has surprised me, humbled me, and helped confirm for me God’s ordaining of this year of ministry. I am incredibly grateful for each of my supporters, those who, by pledging funds or prayers, have shown me that they believe in the work God has called me to on the World Race.
Supporter, you have helped make this mission trip possible. I am anticipating that this year will bring personal growth and clarity of purpose as I leave all things comfortable and known to fully embrace life where the only goal is to hear God and do what he says. I will work on trusting God when the circumstances around me are always changing and never in my control. When I am missing those back home, he will be my home. When I am uncomfortable, he will bring me comfort.
I know that this year will grow my faith. My squad and I will encounter different cultures, religions, and lifestyles. We will each need to ask ourselves hard questions about what we believe and why we believe it. Our confidence in the greatness and love of our Lord will surely grow as we see him move and work in our lives and in people around the world. I will also learn more about my spiritual giftings as I practice using them in different ministry contexts.
This year I will be living and serving in community with people who seek to show and speak God’s love to the lost and the unreached. These people will challenge me and hold me accountable. They will support me, help me stay disciplined, and speak life to me when the enemy fills my head with lies.
Kingdom growth is my goal this year and always. I can’t wait to share with you stories of how God uses my squad to bring himself glory. It’s a privilege to be counted worthy to partner with him.
I know that on this trip I will encounter the brokenness of the world, as well as see clearly the brokenness of my own heart. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous about some aspects of this trip and how they will affect me. I also know that brokenness is an essential predecessor to healing, and how I long for our world to be healed.
Supporter, you made it possible for me to get this far, but in order for this trip to be fruitful, I still need your support in the form of prayer and encouragement. I can’t adequately express how thankful I am for this opportunity. Thank you for changing my life and the eternal future of people across the globe that you may never meet this side of heaven. That is true love.
