I am a self-proclaimed book nerd. I could read all day long. Some books provide a few hours of entertainment, but others I return to over and over. They are like old friends. My bookshelves are filled with books that overflow onto stacks on the floor. From books I crave knowledge of faraway places, wisdom from lessons learned, adventurous journeys, friendships, and hope. So it will come as no surprise that I have a reading list to prepare for my upcoming missions trip. Before I launch on the World Race in January 2019, I want to read these books about missions and missionaries.
- James Hudson Taylor, Pioneer Missionary of Inland China by Gloria Hunnex
- Mission to the Headhunters: How God’s Forgiveness Transformed Tribal Enemies by Frank and Marie Drown
- Through Gates of Splendor by Elisabeth Elliot
- Mission Possible: The Wonderful Story of God and a Wycliffe Translator in the Jungles of Papua New Guinea by Marilyn Laszlo
- God Will Provide: M.A. Thomas, a Biography by Nina P. Ross
- Revolution in World Missions: One Man’s Journey to Change a Generation by K.P. Yohannan
- So Many Africas: Six Years in a Zambian Village by Jill Kandel
Have you read any of the books on this list? Anything you think I should add?
Then I saw another angel flying directly overhead, with an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on earth, to every nation and tribe and language and people. Revelation 14:6
