The Key…
Before the race I ordered a key from Keys for the Journey. The word on it said “journey” it was prayed and prophesied over. It was very special to me to have this word.
This race has definitely been an amazing journey for me. Every time I wore this key I was reminded daily that this life is a journey with the lord. It daily reminded me that I need to be patient and things take time. God doesn’t expect me to have everything changed in a minute, hour or day. This life is a journey I need to daily rest in the lord and lean on his provision.
A few verses that I always have cling to as I was clinging to this word “Journey.”
“If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?””
Esther 4:14
“The Lord will not reject his people; he will not abandon his special possession.”
Psalms 94:14
“Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
Hebrews 13:5-6,8
“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.”
Romans 5:3-11
These verses are always so encouraging to me. As I wore this key I asked the lord to send someone along my path that needs this encouragement of the journey. As always God is faithful! When I came to India God told to give the key to my host Amma. Amma is on an amazing Journey and clings to the verse that God will never abandon her. Also the verse that says
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
One afternoon Amma told me her life story and her testimony. Amma has been through so much hurt, physically and emotionally. But since she has given her heart to the Lord Amma can face those things with Joy from the Lord and pray for the people that hurt her. Through her testimony in the Lord Amma also has a heart for other woman to be free from the bondage Satan keeps us in. Amma’s vision to serve women all around her neighborhood has been made possible through the financial support of donors in America.
Now Amma has the key and someday God will tell her to pass it on to whoever the Lord tells Amma to.

P. S. In a country where Christians are persecuted I have refrained from using her actual name for her own safety. I have called this lady Amma which means mother. That is what we called her when we served alongside with her in her ministry as she truly was a mother to the six of us. (number six is including our squad leader John as we claimed him part of us as team Talia.)
