Goodbye Haiti ????
Serving in Haiti was amazing. I am having a very hard time to put it in words of how hard it was to leave Haiti. With only being there for only 2-1/2 weeks, I went to serve with all of my heart and make the best out of every moment of ministry we had. So I was so focused on that, that I didn’t write updates about my life for you. I’m sorry!
As I poured my life into Haiti, God’s love kept pouring in. In the little things, notes of inspiration, people speaking life. It was also not cake and pie. It was rough, rocky and steep but in my weakness God came in strong. But that is what made it so great. A few of my favorite things: evangelizing with Diana (one of the translators) she made it so much fun as she translated so well. Diana was always my translator for evangelism days. One of the people we stopped to pray for was a man who was using crutches to walk with. His testimony was, he was in a moto accident and hurt his leg but through that he found Jesus, so everyday he thanks God for what he did in his life and he is trusting God to keep healing his leg until it is healed completely. And he said he knows that with us coming and praying for him it will have an effect on him the rest of his life. Oh, what faith!!! Another one was when we were walking up a road or so we thought until we reached a dead end and there was the house and it appeared like no one was at home. I looked at Diana and said we are in someone’s yard. She looked at me and we both just stopped but the spirit was telling us keep going, so we went up to the house and started saying hello, and soon a lady appeared. So we prayed for her; she is a believer but was struggling with her family. When we were finished praying for her, her daughter was sitting on the porch then she asked us to stay and chat with her, so we did. Her name is Margaret she is a single mom with 2 children. She doesn’t believe in God and she said all the time people tell her that God loves her in the situation she is in but she doesn’t believe it. So we chatted some more and in the end God told to give her a hug. I don’t know what is happening in her life now but I’m just asked to obey and God will do the growing.
Sundays were one of my favorites as well going to church and celebrating with other fellow brothers and sisters in a different language yet through the language barrier I recognized some of the songs they were singing and could sing along in my language. God is so cool! So many things to thank God for every minute of the day!!!
So leaving Haiti I asked God what to focus on the next month as I serve in South Africa. He said to be intentional about seeking out my teammates as they are my family. I realized then that I neglected them too much this month so thankful for God precious gift of grace.
Family, friends, and faithful prayer warriors. Thank you so much for being faithful in praying for me. My team says that they can feel that I am well covered in prayer! All glory to God. Keep on praying for our team to grow intimately with God as we journey along our paths to what God has destined for us.
Blessings!!!
