The DR has served me so well. I learned so much. Seeing God’s beauty all around through sunrises, rain, the beautiful view we had everyday in the mountain, through laughter of friends. The beauty of simplicity, being very hospitable, the beauty of community living. It has taught me well. One of my favorite was learning more about intercessory prayer. Many days we spent praying and interceding for people. Whoever and whatever God laid on our heart to pray for. Three times a day we set aside time intentionally for this. We can go to God anytime 24/7 but how intentional are we with it? I saw so many prayers being answered. We prayed for rain and it rained. Praying that God would send a person to confirm your prayer and God did it. God Is So Good! Also one of my challenges was being obedient to take action when God calls you to do it, just do it and he will show his glory. The Dominguez’ family was struggling a lot with sickness and I felt God was calling me to to pray and anoint them. So I was praying and seeking God of how and when and I also asked that he would send someone to tell me that I should to confirm of what I have been hearing. God did and we followed through and his glory came through so powerful. It was so beautiful. Another of my challenges was missing my family a lot! I was reminded daily that God is my first. My team mates are so amazing, they helped me a lot of working through this. One of the challenges was to look for things that remind me of home. So I did, everyday we ate off of stainless steel plates similar to the ones we have at home. Also when doing manual labor I was thinking of Dad and my brothers of how well you taught me of using a shovel to dig a trench. Also to help build a house we shoveled a lot of dirt and I got to help pour cement for the foundation. It was so much fun. There is so much more, but this is a brief view of my first month of The World Race.

We left Hope Mountain on September 8 for debrief here at Puerta Plata DR. We will leave for Haiti the 13th.

Thank you all for your Prayers it is greatly appreciated!! Blessings!
