I’ve never had a blog before and for the past couple months I’ve been thinking about what I should share. This mission as a whole is a dream, a massive movement that will change my life, and will be life changing for everyone that I encounter on this mission trip, as God will get to use me to bring the Kingdom down. I wanted to share a sermon I heard the other day about missions. There’s some psychology to when we spend more time with someone and get to know their interests, we start to like their interests too. The same goes true when spending time with God. When we spend time with God, we start to learn that His heart is to bring the joy of Christ to all nations.

Satan will tempt us in His schemes to remind us of our past and say we’re not good enough. I hear the voice of Satan when thoughts or questions like “How much money do you have to raise?”, “That mission trip doesn’t pay bills.” “You should be looking for a job to pay back your loans after graduation, not going around the world for a year.” “What about medical insurance?” cross my mind. God will take care of all of that. I’m not very concerned about raising the funds for this trip among other things. If this is what God is calling me to do, He will make a way.

Making a way has always been at the heart of His Kingdom. In Matthew 13:44 Jesus describes the kingdom of God, he says,

“The Kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he had to buy that field”

I have been blessed to see and experience the kingdom of God, and part of this trip for me comes from my desire to give everything I have to proclaiming that Kingdom to those who haven’t heard.

Blessings!
