I’ve been questioning God a lot lately, asking Him what the purpose of me being here, in Albania & on The World Race, was. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE traveling, meeting new people, volunteering etc. but sometimes you wonder if you’re really even making a difference and if giving up your life at home was really worth it for scooping poop on a farm all day, you know? (LOL – It honestly has been fun.)
We are now half way through the race. We have exactly 5 months left until we land back in the US. We leave for Serbia (Month 7) on Wednesday! I started thinking about what life is going to look like once I get back home (which probably isn’t something I should be worrying about right now). I’m not normally one to worry or stress about much but the more I thought about it, I was starting to stress myself out a little about the payments I’m still making on my car loan, trying to fundraise that seems to be at a standstill, paying what I can on my own to my trip, and trying not to completely drain my savings account so I have a little something something for when I get home to help me get back on my feet.
I told God that if it was His will to send me home early- at this point, I will be ok with it. But, If He wants me to stay here, He is going to have to work some kind of miracle because I cannot financially afford to stay!
On Tuesday morning I was sent an email from our Squad Mentor letting me know that we are reaching our final grace period for fundraising on March 31st – just 12 days away. She checked on Monday and I was 80% to my final goal. (about $3,800 to go) I was asked to take one hour a day for the next 12 days to work on fundraising until I was fully-funded.
Two of my other teammates and I took an hour that afternoon. We got to the restaurant at the end of the street where we found WiFi – I logged on to my World Race web page and found out that within ONE DAY I went from 80% to …

Although I can’t always see the fruit of what we are doing – I know that God has me and my team in these locations and with these ministries for a reason and it’s not my job to worry about seeing the end result. He has confirmed through all of you, that this is where he wants me – SO, Instead of stressing out about it, I will continue to wake up, choose joy, and work to the best of my ability. Ill be the best pooper scooper you ever did see!
