The is the blog about you guessed it asking the lord. I have an amazing relationship with God mostly due to my inadequacy to measure up. So now that we know my foundational relationship with God I can start to tell you a little bit of how I talk and ask questions to the lord. You see if I was always given answers to my questions right away I would not give God the glory. I would make up story’s in my mind of how truly great I am. I talk with God each and every morning sometimes I need something sometimes I want something most the time I thank our father for the works He has done in my life.
Have you ever asked yourself why would God the creator of heaven and earth want to talk with me? It truly is a good question why would I be so special to receive words from God. You see talking with God and living a fruitful life starts with putting aside the time with God. step 1) actually making time to talk with God. It is easy to forget talking with God. Let’s be honest if we can’t see Him it makes it very hard to remember Him throughout our day. One way I remember to thank the father daily is by waking up before my feet touch the floor praying. Sometimes my prayers are hard, waking up super sad or uncomfortable prayers like I just can’t do anything today father I need you today more than I need myself. Its an amazing way to start a conversation with God and I found that it helps me to not forget to build and cultivate the relationship.
That drops me into a thought. What is relationship to you? I know for me it’s a lot of back and forth conversations that establish over time a connection and deeper understanding. You see if conversations with people here on earth are two sided then why when we come to talking with God it suddenly turns to a one sided talk about fixing what we see as problems? We want to believe in God but don’t give the needed time for God to respond. It’s funny how we operate in a pursuit of God without wanting to put in the work it takes to maintain a healthy relationship. It is hard to walk through financial crisis or relationship hardship possibly just the daily life. This is hard to walk through and we pray. we pray so much that we get discouraged when God doesn’t give us what we want or think that we need. I want to ask you a question. Why do we believe that what is best for us is to receive what we pray for? My answer is simple to be more comfortable here on earth. I used to pray for $, joy, happiness, courage, to be liked by others. It’s not what is best for me when I used to pray it is what I wanted God to give me is why I prayed. You see there is a huge difference in creating a relationship and talking with God verses seeking God out to receive the things we want. We choose to view things from a very one sided perspective. God knows what’s best for us. Sometimes the job we have been looking for isn’t for us. Or maybe the new promotion we received is ushering us into a season of growth through struggle. Possibly our relationship with our friends is not healthy and we need to change our direction in life in order to start finding new growth. Our perspective our relationship our talks with God direct our future. We choose to talk with God like He is Santa Claus. Well let’s face it if we were to pray each day as if people we loved were dying we would have a lot more conversations with God. It’s easy to start a relationship with God it’s a whole different battle to maintain a relationship with God. The reason that I bring this up is because we as a people tend to pray for the wrong things in our life. We want what is not good for us and get angry at God for not showing up. God is with us, thanks to His son Jesus Christ. When we alter our perspective of talking with God the father we are able to talk about why things are happening. We become more Intune with the rhythm of God and are able to find our relationship with Him becoming more two sided.
All of this to say about asking the lord in daily life. It’s not about the world or its wealth. It is all about the relationship God wants with us. I you want a lasting change in your life circumstance take up a conversation with God. Truly press into cultivating a relationship and waiting on the lord for the response. Gods not in a hurry and neither should we be. I struggle so hard daily, it’s not an easy life serving the kingdom of God. I understand it truly takes sacrifice. The reason I wright this blog is to help others, you if your reading cultivate/ tend to your relationship with God. Start to ask the right questions. Not the cheap prayers of take me out of this storm or bless me with more. I am talking about the talk with God about why I am in this storm. Why father have you placed me in a season of darkness. It’s the questions that we do not ask that go unanswered. God wants to reveal to us his plan for us and in order to hear, in order to see in order to find we must first ASK.
It is true sometimes bad things happen to good people. And sometimes God has purpose beyond our understanding of situation. Stop for a moment and search for what you truly desire and then start the conversation with God. We can walk daily asking the lord. finding people and places we could never have dreamed of.

Thank you all for your,
pursuit of kingdom, loving one another, cultivating relationships
