first of all, I have never seen so much desire to pursue school work. The kids here in Asia are so dedicated to studying that their natural schedule is to study daily for about 3 hours or more some days. This is such an incredible thing to watch as the kids go to school around 8 am and get home around 3pm then the studying begins. The one thing that throws me off a little is there joy in the studying and school work. For most of the kids including myself in America have never really had to fight to go to school (we mainly fight to get out of school). The children here get the opportunity to learn it’s a blessing to them that they get to go to school! It is so different to watch the 9 boys here at the ministry house daily press into learning more. They show so much love and thankfulness to be doing school work and going to school it is almost unreal how serious they take learning!

I have seen many things on the race so far, and this one really gets me in my heart. I was watching a kid yesterday Shepard 5 cows (about 10 years old) as the 9 boys (age 8-19) study just over the fence it really tugged on my heart. We see things through such a prideful perspective, we get free schooling where the children here only dream of having enough money to go to school. It is amazing to see that both the children shepherding and the ones in school have so much joy in just living a life. There is a passion when we press into learning and I think I we can all learn a lot from the persistence of the children here. When we get tired of pressing into and learning from God, we can take notes from these kids.
Oh also the village that we are in dose not have much. the power goes out daily and water runs shy. we use the hand pump well. the kids shower outside and sometimes have to brush their teeth with tree branches. The village does not have much money and most people have very little to live in. most people are vegetarian and eat rice and curry daily (such good food). The men work while the women stay home and take care of the kids and the house.
Constant desire to learn takes a perspective of thankfulness
My heart goes out to the children here and there passion to learn and study for endless hours. They are such an awesome group of brothers and I am so thankful for the opportunity to learn from them and walk through a little bit of life with them. God uses all things for good!

I forgot to mention each boy is adopted by pastor and his wife. They hold such a big spot in my heart! their obedience to learn and the love they pour out into others through there servanthood. God truly has blessed this ministry and blessed this group of 9 boys with the opportunity of a lifetime, living and pressing into who Jesus is to them and what true love looks like. God will restore even the most broken pieces of our life.
