God is so good! Here is a brief summary of what this crazy old man has chosen to do after leaving a government job. So this old mans name is Ken he is about 65 years old and has had 2 different eye surgery’s while in south America. The most recent one was while he was in Bogota right before his journey to Medellin Colombia. The most interesting thing about ken is that he is traveling alone and has never been married. This is what truly has caught my ear about ken he is alone on an older BMW motorcycle traveling to the places he has always wanted to ride. Um I had quite a few questions for ken like what made him choose to ride and how does a man that doesn’t speak a lick of SPANISH manage to travel across south America. I wish I could have that kind of desire in the actions I take daily. Ken was not a man of faith but our father has truly protected Ken whom has next to no eye sight and doesn’t speak the language but also has a passion to see the world in his own way through his own eyes.
The most beautiful part of traveling is getting to know the people that surround you and growing in understanding of the different cultural values. This man shows a lot of character by truly living his dream out before it is to late. I had learned a lot about a new perspective from Ken ( its not about the dream its about the ride) in the essence of life we get a short time to make an impact and if all goes well a lasting impact that changes many lives.
We pursue so many useless things in life like kens pursuit of riding a bike through south America. Its easy to miss the point! Gods not dead and our life has such a significant purpose! Stop and look without judgment or complaining in to the world we live in, the city that we stay in, the places we call home. What do you see? How do the people around you look? Happy, sad, stressed, depressed? The world we live in is our own mess its time to open the flood gates of heaven and start to live with wholeness and openness about where and who we are in this world. Its not about the Kens traveling the world on a bike its not about the missionary’s or even the journey of our life. If we want change then we have to stop looking to the people around us and start to create the change that we desire in our hearts. This mindset that ken has is awesome to fulfill his bucket list before he dies but what impact does that have on his family or on his community or in the world. The choices are self deserving, travel why not you worked you whole life to make enough money to spend before you die! I want to challenge you heart to seek, while I find more about this life I find more about our father God its not that I am some special person! its truly the pursuit of the life I am intended to live divine through and from our father.
Let the lord show you the path of an everlasting spring where you will never thirst!
