One day I was reading Psalm 118 (I’m in love with this passage!) and I decided to write an my on original psalm/poem/song to God. Here it is…
O Lord, I praise you
For putting me in this hard place
When I asked for hardship
I didn’t know how fast your would respond
But you have answered my prayer, God
And I thank you for that.
Now this doubt weighs one,
I talk about it with people
But you are the only one who
Can truly help me
So God, I sing out to you
Teach me how to trust and obey
Prove yourself faithful to me
As you always do
Show me I can trust you,
Show me your hands, Lord
Just as you did with doubting Thomas.
I know you are good.
I know you are Sovereign.
I believe these thing,
But I seem to also be believing in this doubt,
More than you.
I ask that you would use this doubtful season to grow me.
Please Jesus.
I want you to show me something
that I simply can’t deny is you.
I promise to wait patiently for you
I love you Lord, and I will continue
to praise and worship you great name.
