Singing. Jumping. Screaming. Crying. Dancing. Whispering. Standing.
Worshipping our father almighty.
Worship at training camp was one of my favorite things that I experienced while down in Gainesville, Georgia! To be frank, the worship was much more charismatic then my home church, but I loved it! I throughly enjoyed worshiping Jesus through jumping around and shouting out to Him! Nobody was judging anyone, we where all have an intimate encounter with Abba.
During worship one night, one of my squad mates sat down next to me, while everyone else was standing during worship. I felt a small tug in my heart to put my hand on his shoulder and pray over him. Now, this wasn’t a rare thing, people were always praying over others during worship and it was super awesome!
When I sat down next to my squad mate to pray over him I didn’t know what I was suppose to pray for, just that I was suppose to pray. So I just started talking to God, and something so neat happened! Words just started flowing out of my mouth! I don’t really remember much of what I prayed for, but I truly believe that the Holy Spirit was praying through me!
Romans 8:26 “and the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.” This was so so incredibly amazing to be so directly used by God and to have the Holy Spirit working right inside of me just as this verse talks about!
After saying amen, we all went back to worshiping and later on, one of my other squadmates came up to me and she said, “Colleen you are such a powerful woman, that prayer was amazing,” and I looked at her and I said wholeheartedly with 100% assurance, “it wasn’t me, that was God.”
It was so so amazing to be used by God in my squadmates life as later he came up to me and continually thanked me for praying and that what was prayed was exactly what he needed prayed over him. And again I was able to look at him with full certainty and tell him that, “Jesus was merely praying through me.”
This was such a amazing experience and I can’t wait for Jesus to work through me and in me more and more not only in the next nine months, but in my life.
