I’ve been home from the race for about seven weeks now. After being gone for nine months and plunging back into life in NC, home feels different. Although, it has felt great to reconvene with my family, friends, and my dogs.
This fall I will be going back out onto the field with another Gap Year Squad, Squad Y. I will be with them for the first three months of their race as an Alumni Team Leader. I will have the incredible opportunity to disciple a team as I have been discipled! As 2 Timothy 2:2 calls us to:
“What you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.”
I want to be a fruitful follower of Christ. My heart, my life, and in every way that I’ve grown to know Jesus and His character, has been so deeply impacted by impeccable people who have taken the time to be intentional in discipling me. Truly a glimpse of heaven I’ve witnessed in fellowship. I cannot keep the beautiful things I’ve learned and experienced of being made for the center of the Lord’s love for myself. 2 Timothy 2:2 calls us to entrust the truth to faithful men and women who will entrust it to other faithful men and women also. The eternal glory of the Lord!
The team of women who I will be leading are women of honor, women of truth, and women whom the Lord has entrusted with his name to go on this journey. I met them at training camp and I have witnessed their passion for seeking after the Lord’s character!
My team (from MY race) cultivated an outstanding culture that we upheld. An atmosphere of BONDED SISTERHOOD, unity, vulnerability, integrity, and a shared pursuit for growth and TRUTH. These women, who I hold so dearly in my heart, have shown me Jesus every day since the day I met them. And being alongside them in every aspect during our race, they brought me closer to the Lord and aided in creating in me a woman after the Lord’s heart. They’ve heard me say it a million times before and I’ll say it again- GENUINE FELLOWSHIP IS TRULY A GLIMPSE OF HEAVEN.
I cannot wait to be a part of another group of young women and cultivate this into their team. To be a part of the life-altering revelations, the freedom gaining, the truth that will be instilled in them, and helping to create in them disciples who are seeking after universal reconciliation. Imparting unto them the truths I’ve come to know and they also share that with others.
My time on the race built a foundation for my relationship with God to continue to grow the rest of my life. While I am team leading, I will be able to be apart of building that foundation for these men and women who are also seeking that foundation of passion and purpose.
I am very eager to learn much about being a leading woman of Christ during this time. Making an impact on this team as my team had on myself. And being able to steward what I will learn well and implementing that into everything I do. Team Leading is not directly related to pursuing my family, future education, or a career. But team leading is directly related to building me up to be the kind of woman I want to be in each of those aspects throughout my life. I know who the Lord has called me to be and this is me chasing after it.
We are heading to Thailand and Malaysia during these three months. This squad is ready!
