Character
I’m learning a lot about what having noble character entails and how to stand as a strong leader and woman of Christ with unwavering faith. Having this be core value, being Spirit led is my focus and motivation.
Character is being committed to a set of higher ideals; these ideals are His kingdom and pursuing His righteousness.
I started being very focused on growing my character and making sure my every action and word were honorable when we were in Nepal. I wrote the word “honorable” on my hand everyday for two months as a reminder of how I should be walking. Whether I was in a taxi, talking to a stranger, walking down the street, etc., i would ask myself “is what I’m doing or saying honorable?”. And if it was not NOT honorable, what could I do to be proactive to make it honorable?
During the two months we’ve been in India, the Lord has brought much wisdom to me through his word and different opportunities to teach me more of what He is growing me in. I can tell He is instilling in me qualities of noble character and changing my mindset to be more mission-focused so that I can be prepared for whatever He has for me in the future.
I’m grateful for wisdom and understanding- both of which are patient, I’ve learned this time and time again.
I’m still learning everyday what “noble and honorable character” entails. I just know this is something specific that the Lord wants me to strive for and actively pursue. We all should. Everyday I’m questioning how the Lord will challenge me to be honorable. I pray for an opportunity to come up everyday for me to choose to handle the situation in a glorifying way. Especially when it’s not easy or if the “honorable reaction” will not come naturally and I’ll have to actively choose into it.
Being a man or woman of honor and of character in Christ is how we should be walking as Christians, showing our love and respect for the Lord. I will be writing another blog post very soon about living above reproach. I’m very excited for what’s to come from the Lord during this season, I’m excited for new challenges. I’m grateful that the Lord loves me enough to WANT to help me grow and to teach me. Thank you, God!!
