Hey guys! Its been far too long since I’ve done a blog, my apologizes!! I have been alright, my summer so far has been full of work, making time for good friends, and preparing for training camp. In six days I will be in Gainesville, Georgia, where I will meet all the people on my route and learn more about the journey ahead. I’m full of all the feels for this transition- excitement, anxiety, fear, and joy- but God has been good this far and that keeps me calm.
Currently God has fundraised $7,200 for my trip which is AMAZING!! I want to thank all of you who have contributed to this mission. It has stretched and grown me in ways I continue to discover every day. It costs $15,800 to go on the trip, and $10,000 of that is due on August 24, so feel free to donate if you feel lead. Every penny counts ^-^
Now for the blog: Instead of continuing “Walking the Narrow Road”, I decided to write you guys a letter through spoken word. You all have encouraged me so much during this journey that I wanted to give something back, so I wrote you all a poem entitled “Dear Friends”. I hope it encourages you to continue to grow in the faith and to remember that God can use you at any point in your life. (I haven’t memorized this piece yet, so instead of “performing” I’m mostly just reading this poem to you.)
Let me know if you want to see more of this in the future ^-^ so please enjoy this poem. May God bless you and keep you safe!!
~CLS
