Hey ya’ll! My name is Christy Gray. I am a hot mess, God-obsessed and I am going on the WORLD RACE!! I am 25 years young and so excited about this opportunity that God has placed in front of me.

I was born and raised in Ohio where I learned to milk cows and drive 4-wheelers. After graduating from high school I went on to get two degrees from Mount Vernon Nazarene University, one in Elementary Education (preK-3rd grade) and the other as an Intervention Specialist (k-12th grade). The day before my college graduation I was offered a position within the Mount Vernon City School district and that has been my missions field for the past 3 years!

During my time at MVNU I was able to take a month and a half to study classroom diversity in the beautiful country of Belize. During my time down there I met some incredible people both in the school as well as the village where I stayed. That is when the Lord began showing me that my heart would never be whole again in the states. I was lucky enough to return to Belize as a chaperone for a local church youth group that spent two weeks serving in the same area I had been before.  While finishing my education degree at Mount Vernon Nazarene University I was also able to complete my student teaching in the inner city of Chicago. I found a placement at an alternative high school teaching math.

While in Chicago I was introduced to the World Race for the first time. I started the application process but then felt that God had other plans for me, however, I knew that one day I would be back overseas where I belong.

I am currently still living in Mount Vernon and teaching special education at the public high school. I also work part-time as a yoga instructor teaching varies levels of classes as well as working with sports teams and individuals. I have two rescue dogs, Sampson and Titus. We spend all of our free time outdoors backpacking, camping, hiking, and horseback riding. When we aren’t outside we are cuddled up on the couch watching a movie and drinking coffee.

The Lord has blessed us beyond belief and I am so excited for this next chapter in life. I hope that you can continue to walk alongside me as I begin this crazy adventure and continue to follow God’s call on my life.
