I’ve been a visitor in so many countries in the last year and it now comes as no surprise to have people stop and talk to us simply because they hear English (and not because we look out of place). Some people chat with us because they hear a familiar accent (we’ve done that a few times ourselves), but others like to practice their English through conversation.
This is what we got to do in Sombor, Serbia. Every evening at 7, our little cafe in the church was crowded with people. We drank coffee and tea together. We played Jungle Speed, Dutch Blitz, Uno, Spicy Uno, Catch-a-Phrase, and a few other indoor games. On some evenings if it didn’t rain, we played volleyball in the back yard, as well as basketball, foot tennis, and soccer. And we talked – a lot!

During our prayer walks every morning and coffee shop visits during the day, we met interesting people and got to invite them to our evenings of fun at the Klub.
We got to know more about their country, and they got to practice English and ask questions about our country.
One of the last evenings, we had a bonfire, sausages to cook on a stick, sweets, and lots of fun and laughter.

I can’t remember all the names of those we met and got to hang out with, but with 15 World Racers there for 3 weeks, we met a lot of people and built lots of friendships.

I think I should start a Coffee Klub at my house; because really, who wouldn’t want to hang out, play games, and drink coffee?
