How do you answer a question such as this?
Truth is, most people wouldn’t say they actually truly met Jesus in person. Unless maybe you lived in Peter’s day. And even then, maybe you would’ve seen Him from a distance and not actually walked up and talked to Him.
I haven’t physically met Jesus, but I’ve met Him in other people. I believe Jesus let’s Himself be manifested in the most unlikely of individuals.
I saw Jesus last month in the Golas family. Cristi and Cami and their family have been working at the Living Hope ministry for a long time and sometimes the work seemed to have stopped. But Cristi persisted and followed God and His vision for Pitesti, Romania. He’s been able to touch many lives and show Jesus to so many.
One way Cristi shows Jesus is by serving the homeless. Every Monday we made a meal for 10-15 homeless people. Most times they’d come to the church so they could shower, wash their clothes, play ping pong, charge their phones, hear some Bible verses, get a meal, and pray together. I couldn’t talk to them very well because, well, I don’t know Romanian. But I could tell they trusted Cristi and listened to what he had to say about God.
Cristi also has his team go to a neighborhood about 30 min away by bus. Our teams went with him and learned how to play a mean game of ping pong, a version of foot tennis, soccer, and in general got to hang out with the children and teens who showed up. He’s been going to Razboieni Ghetto for at least a decade and has watched the children grow into young adults. In being present to offer guidance and be an influence in their young lives, he’s been able to plant seeds in their hearts and watch them grow.

Every Friday evening, a whole passel of kids descends upon the church to learn about God. This ‘kids club’ has been open for a few years and the children get to worship together, hear some good teachings, get a little meal, and play games or make a craft. Seeing Cristi and his team lead the children in worship and care for them was a beautiful picture of meeting Jesus in young souls.

You see, I got to meet Jesus in quite a few people. I believe that it’s important to seek out those who might be hard to love, have no one to love them, maybe disagree with me, are difficult to be around or simply exist right beside me. Those are the people in which I see Jesus. I also see Jesus in those who seek to love others like He taught us to love.
Go meet Jesus today!
