Hi! Welcome to my first ever blog! Haha! I never imagined that I would be writing a blog, but God has a great sense of humor! My name is Catie Collins Smith and I AM GOING ON THE WORLD RACE IN August 2018!!!
I am a sophomore at Mississippi State University. I grew up in Nashville (Franklin), Tennessee my entire life. I have two awesome loving parents, and a great older sister. I had the sweetest childhood growing up with sweet friends and always had something fun to do. People would say that I was and am always down for some adventure.
A few of my interests and hobbies include dogs (LOVE dogs), horses, and all animals (any kind), four wheeling, enoing, driving and singing with the windows down, a red wedding cake/cherry supreme snow cone on a hot day (Jerry’s Sno-Cone), singing in the shower, biking, Cheerwine, all kinds of candy, chacos (even sometimes chacos and socks if it’s a little chilly), Younglife, being on the lake, talking (making noise), anything outdoors, (hiking, swimming, back packing, camping), and pretty much anything and everything that doesn’t involve sitting still and being quiet.
I am in my second year of school right now at Mississippi State University where I am currently undeclared. I started out in Pre-Vet then realized I couldn’t put an animal down, then switched to finance because I knew I love math and numbers, then realized I didn’t want to sit behind a desk all day, and so now I am undeclared. I have no idea with what I want to do, but I know I want to work with people, and make an impact on people’s lives. So these past few months I have been praying for the Lord to give me a word to live by and clear direction for my life. I have heard the Lord saying, “GO! GO and be the hands and feet!” As an act of obedience I am stepping out into the unknown and trusting the Lord with everything I know. I am going on an 11 month missions trip to 11 different countries through an organization called Adventures Admissions. (They are awesome to work with, you should look them up) I will be going to Chile, Peru, Colombia, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand, Haiti, and Dominican Republic.
I love love love people. I can’t wait to meet and love on so many people all over the world!
I have no idea what to expect on this journey, but I know I am going to need a lot of prayers and encouragement. I would love for you to journey with me, even if it’s just through the words on my blog! Feel free to click the subscribe button to get further updates on my journey!
