Happy Memorial Night Everybody!!

I hope you all have had a wonderful, restful weekend with friends and family celebrating the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country. It’s been a while since my last post and I just wanted to touch base and share with you the ways my relationship with God grows stronger and stronger the closer I get to training camp and my departure for The Race!

It is so crazy to think that this time next Monday I will be surrounded by wonderful, God loving people sharing stories, learning about our upcoming adventure, and growing closer together as brothers and sisters in Christ!

I don’t know about y’all, but I’m soooo thankful for this weekend in more than one way because lately I’ve been so overwhelmed and discouraged. This weekend has given me time to reflect, time to pray, and time to be with Jesus. Life has been so crazy lately between juggling 3-4 jobs, getting prepped for training, and fundraising. Sometimes when life gets crazy we don’t find time to be with God. It’s in those most stressful times that we NEED to go to Him.

I learned that truth around 10pm last night spending the night with my sweet Granny Dot. I decided to dust off the cover of a W-O-N-D-E-R-F-U-L book I’m reading about a girl who travels to Uganda for a short term mission trip and ends up moving there, adopting 13 girls, and starting an organization to raise funds to feed, clothe, and send 140 children to school. This book has given me such great insight on what to expect when I travel overseas as well as what to expect when I return home.

One thing I read last night that struck me was when she talks about functioning without God. She had to return back to The States for a short period to honor her parents wishes of attending college/raise funds for her organization. She discusses how far from God she felt because she was able to function without Him. By function she meant that if she was sick, she had easy access to a doctor, if she was hungry she had easy access to a grocery store, if she needed to go somewhere, she just jumped in her car and went.

YA’LL HOW TRUE!!! We take for granted the luxuries of our life but even worse we forget to ask God first to heal us, fill us, and guide us! That’s why I know that my relationship with God is going to grow so strongly on this trip. I’m going to be so dependent on The Father to provide for me in ways I’ve never needed. Instead of having to “set time aside for God” I will be in constant communication with Him and I couldn’t be more jacked!!

I’m so ever thankful to God for the life He has given me. He has surrounded me with love, comfort, security, friends, and family. He’s given me a wonderful life and I’m grateful to go meet the great needs of His children; To love on them, share God’s word with them, and come back a completely different, humble, daughter in Christ.

This will possibly be my last post until I return from training camp but make sure to check back in on 6/15 for a post “post” about training camp!!

p.s

I’m a little over $3,000 shy of meeting my next  deadline so If you haven’t started a ragball team yet, get on that!!

Thanks for reading!! Love ya’ll!!

Best,

Carsyn
