It’s getting real!!

I guess if you are reading this you have seen my acceptance video or talked with me about The World Race because here you are on my blog page!! Now y’all will have to bare with me through these upcoming blogs because I’m a blogger “newbie” so I’m not super familiar with it plus it’s really going to pull me out of my comfort zone a little but hey that’s the whole point of this experience right?!

So what will we do?

The World Race is an 11 month Christian mission trip to 11 countries around the world. One of the unique things about the World Race is that it’s not only a mission trip but also an intensive discipleship program designed to launch my generation into our specific kingdom calling. Through the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the restorative hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations.

How did you know?

For many years I have had this constant urgency pour over me that declared I take a step of faith and take part in something greater than myself. I knew The Lord wanted me to dig deeper into my faith and find a trust in Him that I have never known.  I began researching missionary opportunities, but I didn’t feel God’s calling with the ones I came across. It wasn’t until I scrolled through Facebook and watched an acceptance video of a girl, where she discussed how she was about to embark on The World Race. After researching The World Race and speaking with close friends and family I felt an overwhelming assurance that this is it! This is where God has led me!

So this coming August I will live out of a backpack for 11 months and attempt to do certain things I’ve never done before such as putting together a tent and anything else outdoorsy….

But why now?

I firmly believe that God places certain people and situations in our path for His greater purpose. Is it coincidence that as my college career comes to an end, there is a lull year until I could apply for a teaching position at a school I love and would really love to work at? Is it coincidence that after countless hours, days, and weeks of researching missionary opportunities that I so happen to stumble across one that resonated inside of me? And is it coincidence that the application window opened just a few days before I saw the post for this mission giving me time to think, decide, and apply before all the spots filled up? God works within us and our lives in incomprehensible ways y’all. We just have to realize that everything we encounter has a purpose, HIS purpose.

Need to Knows:

Training Camp: June 4 – 14th

World Race Launch: Sometime in August (once I found out the definite date I’ll post it)

Over the next few months I will have all kinds of fundraising projects going on. I will post these on my blog and social media to get the word out. Please know that I am incredibly thankful for your prayers and support during this season of my life. This won’t be possible without help from everyone!

Best,

Carsyn

James 2:14-17

14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
