Hey all, I am beyond excited to announce that in January 2019, I will be going on the World Race. The World Race is an 11 month missions trip to 11 different countries, through an organization called Adventures in Missions. The countries I will be going to are: Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, India, Nepal, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Romania, and Ukraine.
How did I decide on the World Race?
Well, about a month ago, my Mom tagged me in a facebook post about a trip through Adventures in Missions. This trip was specifically to help those affected by human trafficking. While looking at this trip, I saw that there was a back to back trip to Cambodia. Being passionate about human trafficking, I immediately began to look further into this back to back trip and I knew that it was something I wanted to do; however, God had another plan, which was way better. The trip to Thailand & Cambodia was planned for the same time that my sister is expecting her baby. So, that door being closed, I started looking at different trips through Adventures and that is how I came across the World Race. 11 countries in 11 months, what an amazing way to serve Christ. God had put a passion for people and missions on my heart at a young age and I cannot wait to see what He has in store for my team and I on this trip.
Matthew 28:19-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Psalm 96: 1-3 “Oh sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth! Sing to the Lord, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples!”
11 Months are you crazy?
Maybe a little! Leaving the comfort of my home, my family, my friends, my church, will not be an easy thing. Knowing what I will be missing while I am away definitely hits me hard some days. But, we are commanded to share the Gospel. Matthew 6: 19-21 says, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” I am serving Christ in this, I am taking up my cross and following Him. There is nothing greater in life that I could do than to be serving Christ and living my life devoted to Him.
There is a lot to do from now until I leave for the trip, one of those things is fundraising. The trip costs about $18,000 and I cannot do it all by myself. That is where you come in. I need your prayers and your support.
I will be posting more blogs, you can follow my entire trip on here. If you have any questions or want to know more feel free to contact me!
In Christ,
Carly
