Yesterday I turned 23 years old. I was able to spend the day with my closest friends and this past weekend I drove back home from college to celebrate my upcoming birthday with my family. Birthdays on there own are not special, being with the people who mean the most to you is what makes them special. I received a gift from one of my best friends Rhiannon, which was a picture frame with a bunch of pictures of all my friends. The picture frame was for me to take on the World Race so that no matter what country I am in, my friends will be with me. When she gave me the picture frame, it became real to me that next year I won’t be with my current friends and family. I’m going to be with a whole new family next year at this time in Zimbabwe. Knowing that I won’t be where I am in a year has made me appreciate my friends and family so much more but I am so excited to meet my new family and journey together with them both physically and spiritually for a year. The Lord has blessed me over and over again with the people in my life and I trust him for the changes to come and the new people who he is bringing into my life through the World Race.
