Hello everyone,

I wanted to give you an update on my life. It is now month five of the race with only 6 more to go. I am currently in Manzini, Swaziland. It happens to be another all squad month where all 37 of us are together which is usually rare. Most squads only have one all squad month throughout their 11 months on the race. I have been blessed to have serval all squad months. There just something different about being together with everyone which I love.

For ministry this month we have been split up into teams and are working with different care points. We are partnering with Children’s Hope Chest this month. Some of the different types of ministry this month are: administrative work for the discipleship program, agriculture, maintenance, house visits, afterschool program, media and website design, and teaching. I know there are some other ministry areas but I’m not exactly familiar with them to be able to explain them so I may have left a couple things out.

Me and one of my squad mates, Ashley are teaching this month at Murray Camp. It is an hour walk from where we get dropped off in the morning. I never really thought I’d like walking to ministry every morning and then walking home but it hasn’t been bad. It’s so cool the different people you meet along the way and the conversations that come about. Lots of relationships have been formed and I have been able to invite serval ladies to a Beauty for Ashes retreat I am hosting later on in the month. The kids we are teaching are ages 4-6. We have been teaching them the basics of what you would learn in preschool- 1st grade. So, numbers, letters, days of the week, vowels, how to write, seasons, months, shapes, colors, etc. One thing I love is that this is a Christian school so we are able to do Bible lessons with the kids and talk to them about Jesus. The first week of ministry has been so sweet. I was nervous at how the month was going to turn out and was feeling a little overwhelmed the first day at the school. Me and Ashley arrived with little to no instruction to screaming kids. The teacher quickly stopped teaching introduced both of us and then went along with her lesson. We stood in the back of the room and listened to the kids for an hour and half repeat what the teacher said. They did it by screaming. When they responded to her questions they would scream back the answer as loud as they could. The teaching style was definitely something I was not use too but I quickly learned it was just the culture. Once I got involved and started teaching them myself I had more of a peace and found it to be very fun. I have been loving my time spent in the classroom. I think I could definitely get used to being called teacher Cae each day.

Mondays here look a little different for ministry. Instead of being at the school we do market ministry where we are able to go out and evangelize. We have yet to do it but I am really looking forward to this coming Monday. One of my goals for this month is to grow in the knowledge of the Word of God and to be able to share it effectively. So with this, I am so excited to put into practice what I am learning in scripture and share it with the people here.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. I am looking forward to sharing with you all the things the Lord does and uses me in this month.

~Much love, Cae
