Hello everybody! How was everyone’s week??? Hope you all are doing well. My week has been by far the craziest week I’ve had so far! From getting lost twice in one day to having the weirdest dreams.
The other night I woke up after having the weirdest dream. I’ll give you guys the summary of what happened. In this dream i was walking and yanking out dead trees. As I kept walking, I look to my left and can’t see anything because these dead trees were blocking something. In my dream I knew they were hiding something behind them but I didn’t know what. I then wake up. I woke up so confused by this dream. Earlier in the week I felt like God wanted me to go on a food fast. So I sought out wise counsel and decided I was gonna do it Saturday. After having this dream and reading Daniel 2-6 I felt the Lord calling me to seek out interpretation of the dream I just had. So I sought out more wise counsel and my squad mentor told me to seek God for the interpretation first and then my parents. So I listened and I waited until Saturday. On Saturday I went on my fast and brought up the situation to the Lord and He came through. He gave me the interpretation. The trees I was uprooting were representing all the pain and sin I had been living in and me yanking them out was a representation of how I’ve been giving all my imperfections to God and behind the wall of all my imperfections (aka the trees) was the life God has planned for me. But in order to see that, I need to get rid of all the sin and unrighteousness that is blocking my view. And that’s exactly what I’ve been doing. The thing God has really been doing in my life is stripping me of my pride. And this dream just reassured me that I’m in the right and God is proud of me.
And what really made my week crazy was getting lost twice in the same day! So the day was going great. We just finished ministry and we arrived at our bus stop 40 minutes early. Things were great. We saw signs of a waterfall up ahead and so we thought that the bus that went up hill would drive by it and so we hopped on. Now, to explain why we got on that bus. To get home, we hop on a red and white bus that goes up and down. We normally wait for it to go up and then we get on it when it’s coming down. But what we didn’t know was that these were two different buses. We thought the one bus just went up and down.
So we get on the bus going up the mountain and we’re riding it for a good 20 minutes. We began thinking, “umm shouldn’t this bus be turning around”. So we arrive in this small town called nono 😀 this place is like abandoned. Nobody in sight. It was kinda creepy actually. So we are told the bus leaves back to Quito in an hour. So we were stuck in this town for an hour. We then decided to explore. We eventually met some locals and we talked with them for a while. And then they invite us in for coffee and bread. We all felt a peace in our spirit and so we went in and they fed us. This was by far one of the nicest things someone has done for me. These people were sooo poor and didn’t have much to begin with and for them to offer food and drink to us was so very kind. We of course, used this time to minister to them and we prayed over them. After we had eaten and talked with them for a bit, we had to go back because the bus was leaving. We arrive back in Quito and all is well. Were having a great time. Just one more bus home and then we can tell everyone back home what just happened. No one was really paying attention and we heard one of the guys on my team say “this is us”. So we naturally got on the bus. After riding it for a bit, we realized it was going in the wrong direction. We tried to communicate with the bus driver and he just pointed at the door and was like get off! So now we’re stranded, it’s night out, and we are in like the ghetto. We tried using the team phone but the battery died and none of us had our phones because we are supposed to turn them in for the first month. By now the girls are getting kind of anxious. To clarify, we did tell leadership that we would be late coming home because we hopped on the wrong bus. So we’re left on the curb and we decided to find a local to ask for directions. We find one local and they point in a general direction. We walk for like 10 minutes and still don’t recognize anything. We ask another local and they point in a completely different direction. Once we heard that, the girls officially lost it 😀 In their minds, they thought were either gonna die or die from the leaders because of how late we were. So we keep walking and eventually another local tells us we are actually very far away from where we were supposed to be and at this point, the girls are freaked and were out last curfew. So we decide to take taxis and have a guy in each one and have the guys be in the front seat. We finally get home and everyone back home was so excited to see us and all was good again. The leaders were 15-30 minutes away from calling the police. We were 30 minutes late from when we said we would be there! All in all in was a crazy day and a crazy week!
