This blog is about another face of Jesus I know. But it’s a little different. The person I’m writing about now is my sweet friend, and new team leader, Alexus Marie Peavy. And man, do I love this woman!
Alexus Marie was born and raised in North Carolina. She’s sassy and beautiful, she loves all the veggies and Alaskan Bush people, she’ll always jam to rap, and she’s a baker. These are things that make living life with her a little more fun. But these aren’t why I love her.
Alexus is a woman who will tell you the truth, but it is fully rooted in in love and kindness every single time. She is a woman who is deeply intimate with the Father. I really didn’t know that this was even possible, or desirable, until I began living with her, and saw how she lived her life.
In the hard moments, she’ll sit in silence, waiting for God’s voice. In the moments of confusion, if I ask to talk with her about it, she’ll plainly say that she needs to go to the Father first to get clarity. And every single time, she gets the clarity she was looking for.
I’ve spent a lot of time with this woman since we met in July, and it honestly gets easier to laugh with her each and everyday. She’ll tell you exactly how she’s doing- but she’s never a complainer. She walks in an extreme amount of honor and respect for the rules at hand- but she knows how to have so much fun. She knows herself. She approaches everyone with humility and compassion. She taught me how to sit with the Father and let Him write me a letter- these are some of the sweetest moments of my life.
This is who King Jesus says she is: “Alexus is my daughter of grace and humbleness, who fights for my kingdom each and everyday. She is a shepherd, who brings unity with her tone, and warms hearts with her presence. She is my creation that I delight in sitting with, because she’s impeccably gracious, a woman who listens to understand, and laughs because I am happy. The roots on this woman are unbreakable, and because of how she cares for them, they’re going to sprout countless more trees rooted in me in her lifetime.”
This INCREDIBLE gal has three weeks to raise $2,500. I prayerfully come before all of you, super thankful for how you all have supported me, but asking that you consider supporting her as well. This woman leads me so well, and I do not want to see her sent home. You can donate and encourage her at https://alexuspeavy.theworldrace.org/ .
