ONLY 20 DAYS UNTIL LAUNCH!!!!!!!!! I’m so obviously excited about this mission trip: being able to finally meet my route mates and team leader in person and setting out on this amazing experience. So, in 20 days, on the 30th I will be leaving for training camp which is in Georgia because that is where the World Race headquarters is located. The world race is doing a “parents and family” dinner on the first evening of camp so I’ll have my parents, sisters and grandma with me. I love the idea of them being there because it allows me a chance to say a last goodbye to them before the trip, as well as gives them and I’m sure other parents the opportunity to ask all of their lingering questions to the World Race staff members. My family will say goodbye that night 🙁 and then training camp officially begins!!! From talking to previous racers, and my race adviser, during this time I will be getting to know all the wonderful people that I’ll be eating, sleeping and breathing with for a month, as well as have some awesome worship time, and conversations and lessons to help us prepare spiritually for the journey ahead. Once training camp is complete,we will be on the first flight out to Costa Rica.

The last few months, with changing my route for the second time, has been such a journey. God is amazing, and to see now how he worked everything out intentionally for me, as well as the hearts he touched that led to unexpected donations, has just made me fall even more in love with him. I’ve always believed that things work out at the right time, but a couple of months ago I question whether the World Race was an option for me. But I’ve gotten to see how intentional he is towards me, and by intentional I mean how his convictions lead to a lesson that I needed to learn to help me in a situation that I could face during the mission trip, or just later in life. Thanks to his provisions I’m almost fully funded, and I’ve been able to purchase all the required necessities for the trip!!! I don’t know what will happen after I come back from Costa Rica, but I’ll trust His plan, and listen to his voice to know what he has next.
